One of the best trout flies on Prince Edward Island Canada. We call it the brown hackle. Usually fish with two flies. ( a must) Brown Hackle on end and a Whickems Fancy on top.

No more wasted feathers. I will make this easy-to-construct fly in a smaller size and try it on some perch; I know they take everything but they need a change from little woolly buggers. LCR is good stuff. Thank you. Kate
By tying a threadwrap smoothly along the entire hook shank, a much more durable fly is the result. The tyer of the adams dry is knowledgable, but I would recommend that conciderablly fewer wraps of thread, well placed, will result in a more streamlined and equally durable tie which will absorb less water and is less likely to unravel.
Alan, this is wonderful work. I love all the variations of the Brooks Blonde. The Mickey Finn has also been a favorite. The two combined are a knock out.
Agree with Kelly. a great tye....
love bucktails, simple but effective
great job alan
Thanks. The Blonde series are great for pike and bass too. They are quick to tye and make a tough fly that will take the abuse and teeth from big pike. I have even caught Channel cats on them.
thank ypu for all the comments on this little fly
I was wanting to purchase some Tomsu's Supreme Hopper flies. Can you help me accomplish that? Thanks, Dewayne Findley
My favorite patterns are a green/white and a Micky Finn (red/yellow) pattern but also pink/white is great in the winter and early spring. They have quite a few sea trouts on their conscience. A great fly on the danish coast and it will always be in my flybox.
I first saw the fly in the DVD "Salt sea trout on a fly" (i think) but was introduced to the fly by a friend in Norway during summer hollyday, where we went on an early morning trip to a small fjord. I didn't catch any trouts that morning, but a few garfish couldn't resist it. Back in Denmark i tied a few of them and they were testet on the danish east coast with succes.
For sure one of my favorites....
Regards
Thomas
Hello
Is the 54 inch long wood carving of a Northern Pike for sale?
No name - good one Barry. Will have to give it a try.
Gray
love this fly very much, alot of naturals with just the right ammount of bright colors. nice work on the head as well!
I love this little fly,i will be tying a few to try on the Scottich rainbows for the coming season...
Barry If you allow me I take the audacity to suggest a name for this fly, "good vision", because these lures attract the fish much ...good luck.
Great movie! It utterly makes me want to go there ASAP!
Try using a blood knot making the tag ends extra long. A neat way to add flies & vary tippet size as well.
Not watched the full movie, but the trailer looks amazing. Really good to see a fly fishing film which looks inspired. Well done on releasing it for $10 download. Just putting it on my Kindle fire now and will watch later when the kids are in bed and the house is quiet and I can savour the experience.
Thanks Tom !!!here in France is snowing too !!good wheather for tying flies!!!

Barry, I definitely like this pattern. I bet it will even work on Bass! All of the major fish attracting colors in one package. A working man's streamer!
Thanks Joel,it seems to work for just about anything
Fishing with this fly is the same to tie a christmas tree in the leader......
… I have a small favor to ask.
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
