Money buys everything!! Places, food, even fish .... it is an abuse to see the rich with huge fish in Strobel in Las buitreras, and Tsimane, in Rio Grande, while there are people starving in the world ... stop publishing these abuses of power and lust, it is very offensive!

It's the top fly - nearest to the rod - when you fish more than one fly, and in particular more than one dropper - the flies tied on the line above the point fly, which is the last one in the row. Read this article for way more on fishing several flies and droppers.

I am new to fly fish

I am new to fly fishing. I have tied flies for about a year now give or take a month. I am a differently able person and haven't found anyone who wants to take me on and teach me the casting, and presentation 2/3 of the sport. But I keep hearing English, and Scottish, Irish tiers too, mention a top dropper. What is it. I know there must be nymphs tied to it somehow, because I heard one fellow tier say, "This is a good top dropper it will hold up a couple of tungstens." This page came up when I googled, What is a top dropper?

In defining the length of the CDC "wing" Hans says "The length of the body". I wonder if he really means the length of the hook shank.....The "body" of a fly is often defined as the abdomen as opposed to the abdomen and the thorax...?

Requesting the Balla

Requesting the Ballathie House fly recipe. Stayed for ~10 days and had a marvelous time! Beautiful fly displayed in the bar and would love to recreate for a shadowbox for myself. Did not have enough time to preplan & schedule a reservation on the beat along the river Tay...though it wasn't 200 feet from our room window. Cannot recommend the hotel enough for any traveler! Incredible food & staff attention!!!

great bass fishing on a beautiful section of river ,here in the us I fish a short rod with popers for smallies,, I had a trip to Victoria ,on the lodon river near the town of newstead and caught some huge redfin and actualy saw a few brown trout cruising the grass, wag tails every where and the call of the kooabura,,pure heaven,,, I loved it....

I am totally new to fly fishing and fly tying. I would like to thank you for the easy instructions for tying flies, but my problem is I have no idea what the difference is in a wet and dry fly.
