Acrylic assumes and transmits the flavour of predominant underlying colours...
a little "dark" goes a long way...
The translucent properties of the mylar plays tricks with light and offers some curiously phlashy highlights...

When I saw the trailer of this movie, I must have the DVD and I have bought it today directly from the website.
I cant wait to see the whole story. I have fished central America a couple of times and are familiar with the atmosphere. Fantastic pictures and images on the article and the trailer.
Very good work, hope to see more in the future.
Tom Biesot.
Martin,

Bob, Excellent article. I apologize for not finding it sooner. I have been spending all my time with my granddaughter. I have always admired your tying.

Happy to hear you have taken the big step to a virtual server. You mentioned the extra work and expense of the changeover. Here's a suggestion...there are probably thousands of us who enjoy stopping by Globalflyfisher for videos, fly tying, forums etc. and we appreciate your dedication to making Globalflyfisher available, so why not offer a "Donate" button where we can show our appreciation by donating $$$ to help with you with the expense of running Globalflyfisher. For example, see the troutconservancy.org website
Tight lines.
Look like a killer for perch and also zander down here in Holland, thanks for the share !!
i got this video and was totaly suprised. it is defintly worth getting. awsome footage of the fishing and every thing else too.
I would like to have your permission to use the logo to be printed on measuring tape, it will be sold to help promote Catch & Release and fund-raising for my association.
Thanks,
CK
Thank you so much for posting this article. I am new to fishing, and I have been very curious about the ethical obligations which I have to the fish. Your article has helped me to see that even though casualties may accidently occur (alternatively, I catch an old fish which just happens to naturally die on the line), through due diligence I can fish in a way which minimizes potential harm to the fish and which keeps the fish as safe as possible. Thank you so much for your insightful comments - from a new fisherman, much appreciated.
Thanks Donald !!!
Those beaded BUZZERS you have been tying are GREAT !!!
PT/TB :D
[b:932bed99b9]A great collection of beaded bugs there PT. They would be a really good collection for greyling here in the UK. Greyling usually live in shoals and they will grab what they see before somebody else does.[/b:932bed99b9]
i'm trying to buy some feathers for hair extensions and i need the softer feather and i need length, i want to know the difference between 1/4 saddle, 100 packs and full saddle. When ordering feathers i have read that the size isn't actually the length is that true? any info you can send is helpful
The photo's don't do justice to his work.
Once you see one of his pieces in front of you, you will be blown away!!
Absolutely BRILLIANT...
Hello Greg,
Thanks for the nice cooment on the article, it is a great hobby to make your own flyfishing gear.
To make a design is the most difficult part of the project and that takes a lot of time.
Kind regards,
Tom.

Norm and Ruthie [CEO & Chair-person of the Board] on tour...
This photo was taken just before the doors opened at the 2011 Somerset Fly Fishing Show in New Joizey last January...
I first met Norm and Ruthie way back in the late 80's at the Marlboro FF Show in Taxachusetts... the beginning of a genuine friendship...
My vise [at the time] was an HMH which served me very well and is still in my collection of venerable "kinetic sculptures"...
After watching Norm do his thing, I made the investment and I've never had any regrets...
The "Automatic Bobbin" completes the package and is brilliant phrosting on the cake!...
EVERY time I get to watch Norm, I ALWAYS learn a few more amazing tricks...
And I ALWAYS enjoy spending time with quality and innovative tools [Lord knows, I have more than my fair share]...
Nor-Vise... NO regrets! [/b:24f2a85073]
I love listening to your podcast's, good talks. A glass of wine and sitting at my bench tying up some flies while listening to your adventures is a good time.

There's one other thing to add to the list:
a strong back to carry all these things
Swellcat,
I have no idea what does the trick in furniture polish! The main trick is most likely to make the line water repellent, and for that any greasy or oily substance can be used. I personally prefer the silicone-based products such as Mucelin.
The effect of the furniture polish might also be smoothness and shootability. For that purpose there are line treatments, which improve the slickness of the line. Loon has some, and so do other manufacturers.
But personally I find the running lines smooth enough while floatability is generally lousy, so making sure the line floats is a priority for me. Any water repelling substance can be use for that: Mucelin, silocone for shoes, grease for gaskets and much more. I even know an angler who used hair gel! The gel is water-soluble, so I wouldn't go for that, but anyhow...
Hope this helps.
Martin
… I have a small favor to ask.
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
